Program:
DAY 01 AIRPORT – KOTA KINABALU
Arrive Kota Kinabalu, meet and transfer to the Hotel. The day is at leisure.
Overnight.
DAY 02 KOTA KINABALU
Breakfast in the hotel. Depart for a full day excursion to Kinabalu National
Park where the highest mountain in Southeast Asia lies. Kinabalu is a botanist’s
paradise with over a thousand species of orchids, numerous Rhododendrons
and pitcher plants. There is also a fascinating variety of bird species.
Activities during the tour are a guided jungle walk, visit the exhibition
hall and watch a slide presentation of the Kinabalu National Park and Mount
Kinabalu. Return to Kota Kinabalu. Overnight. (Meals: Breakfast/Lunch)
DAY 03 KOTA KINABALU – MIRI
Breakfast in the hotel. Proceed for a city tour of Kota Kinabalu. Visit the
highest point for a panoramic view of Kota Kinabalu, an exclusive residential
area, Likas Bay, the exterior of Sabah Foundation building, a Buddhist Temple,
the State Museum, State Mosque and the water village. Afternoon transfer
to airport for flight to Miri (BKI/MYY MH2611 1345/1425 hours). Transfer
to your hotel. Overnight. (Meals: Breakfast)
DAY 04 MIRI – KUCHING
Breakfast in the hotel. Depart for a full day tour of Niah National Park, which
is, world famous for the oldest human remains find in Southeast Asia dating
back some 40,000 years. Here you will explore the Niah Caves, the Museum
on the history of Niah and the tall bamboo poles, once used to collect birds'
nests, a Chinese delicacy. Return to Miri and transfer to the airport for
flight MH2625 1920/2015 hrs to Kuching. Transfer to Hotel. Overnight. (Meals:
Breakfast/Lunch)
DAY 05 KUCHING – SEMENGGOK ORANG UTAN-LONGHOUSE
Breakfast in the hotel. Early morning depart to visit the Semonggok Orang Utan
Rehabilitation Centre that houses the Orang Utan, honey bears and other protected
species of wildlife, rescued from captivity. These wildlife are then carefully
nutured and rehabilitated into their natural surroundings. Witness the feeding
of the Orang Utans subject to the animals approaching the feeding platform.
Depart for an overnight stay at a guest house located beside an Iban longhouse.
On arrival, the natives of the Iban tribe in the longhouse will welcome you.
You will experience and learn about their daily activities. After dinner, meet
the Headman of the longhouse and be entertained by traditional dances. Try
the rice wine and participate in the graceful Warrior’s Dance, the Ngajat.
Overnight in a guesthouse (consist of individual beds with mosquito netting
for each bed. There are proper shower and toilet facility). (Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
DAY 06 LONGHOUSE-KUCHING
Local breakfast. Witness the pastime games of the Iban people, demonstration
on how to use a blow-pipe to hunt. Proceed for a nature walk to see how the
jungle is an important part of the life of the natives. Return to Kuching.
Overnight. (Meals: Breakfast/Lunch)
DAY 07 KUCHING
Breakfast in hotel. Tour of Kuching city with places of interest include view
of Fort Margherita from the waterfront, across the Sarawak River (no public
admission); Tua Pek Kong Temple – the oldest Chinese temple in Kuching and
the Sarawak Museum – reputed to be the best Museum – reputed to be the best
Museum in South East Asia. Tour ends with a transfer to the airport for your
onward journey – departure flight must be after 1400 hours. (Meals: Breakfast)
Extension can be made to Bako National Park, one of the most interesting as
it contains almost every type of vegetation found in Borneo.
