sun tan/block lotion.
Note: Fort Magherita is
close on Monday and public holidays. Tour to Bako National Park could be
restricted during the months from November to February due to rainy season.
Program:
Day 01 KUCHING
Transfer from airport to Hotel in the City of Kuching. Explore on your
own the quaint City by foot or take a boat along the Sarawak River. Overnight
Hotel.
Day 02 KUCHING
Morning half day Kuching tour (3 hrs.), drive pass China Town to visit Tua
Pek Kong Chinese Temple, the oldest in Sarawak, view of Fort Margherita from
the waterfront, across the Sarawak River (no public admission), the City
Tower viewing platform, St Joseph Cathedral, the Syariah (Muslim) Court,
The Satok Suspension Bridge, villages , the State Mosque and Jalan Gambier
where colourful local markets are located beside the spice shops. View the
Astana from the waterfront. Lastly, visit Sarawak Museum, one of the best
museums in South East Asia. Overnight Hotel. (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 03 - KUCHING SEMMENGGOK ORANGUTAN-LONGHOUSE
Early morning depart to visit the Semonggok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre
that houses the orang-utan, honey bears, hornbills and other protected species
of wildlife, rescued from captivity. These wildlife are then carefully nurtured
and rehabilitated into their natural surroundings. Witness the feeding of
the orang utans subject to the animals approaching the feeding platform.
Drive through the countryside, small towns, rice fields, rubber, palm oil
and pepper plantation. Stop at a pepper plantation.
On arrival at longhouse, you will be welcomed by the natives of the Iban tribe.
Experience and learn about their daily activities. After dinner, meet the Headman
of the longhouse. Be entertained with traditional dances and try the local
rice wine, tuak.
Overnight Guesthouse of the longhouse (consisting of individual beds in a
dormitory setting, each bed has a mosquito netting. There are toilet facilities,
shower facilities but no hot water). (Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
DAY 04 LONGHOUSE KUCHING
Witness the pastime games of the Iban people, demonstration on how to use a
blowpipe to hunt. Proceed for a nature walk. Visit a pottery factory well
known for its ethnic design pottery before returning to Kuching. Overnight.

Day 5 BAKO PARK DAY TOUR
This is Sarawaks oldest National Park. It is one of the smallest National
park in Sarawak yet one of the most interesting because it contains almost
every type of vegetation found in Borneo. There are well-maintained network
of trails from easy forest strolls to full day jungle trek. You may see
birds, proboscis monkey, long-tailed macaque and silvered-leaf monkey. Return
to Kuching. Overnight. (Meals: Breakfast/Lunch)
Day 6 TRANSFER OUT
Transfer to airport for your onward flight or extend at the beach resorts.
